Happy Birthday Lilli!

Grace's friend Lilli turned 3 and had a great party. Everyone was supposed to come dressed up and the girls looked lovely in their outfits. They had the "scary" roller coaster thing that we previously never had to worry about Grace wanting to ride. Before we could even blink she was first in line...
Grace had a blast playing with her friend Braden

This picture cracks me up...Happy Birthday Lilli!

Sweet Momma #2

Grace has always been very motherly and sweet to Kate.  Most days poor Kate has two mothers.  Grace still continues to "pack" Kate's lunch in the mornings which is cute but now she checks the bag when she gets home.  As soon as Grace walks in the door she looks for Kate's lunch bag and opens it to "see what she ate so I know what she liked.  I need to know so I can pack the right things next time."  So sweet but oh Kate, one mother worrying about you is rough enough :)
(You are so lucky you have a sister that loves you so much :))

Back to Dance

Grace was very excited to be able to take dance again this year.  She's in a new class with a new teacher and new friends.  She's quite the ballerina- insists on a tutu and a bun for every class

One major difference for me this year is Kate :)  In the spring she just sat in her carseat and watched everyone.  Not this year..  She likes to watch Grace, she bangs on the window and waves every few minutes but most of the time she likes to play.  There are two other siblings her age that watch the class so she has her own friends to play with too.  She loves dance class too!

Happy Birthday Addison!

Grace's friend Addison turned 3 and had a great birthday party. Her mom had a dress up area that Grace loved- so many princess dresses.Grace loved the princess chairGrace was a little hesitant about the bounce house but once Kate and I went in, she also followed. The three of us had the best time jumping around, especially Kate.
Another favorite activity was playing with the princess wands. Kate loved pulling it apart and it kept her busy for 20 minutes :)

Happy Birthday Addison!

Kindermusik Kate

On Wednesdays Grace has school but Kate doesn't so we decided to enroll Kate in a Kindermusik class since Grace enjoyed it when she was her age. Kate loved the class! Her favorite part was a song that had all the kids "meeting each other." Kate loved waving at everyone and shaking their hands. I was too busy to take pictures but here she is after class- very happy.

Grace Meet the Teacher

Jack, Grace and I went and met Grace's preschool teacher, Mrs. Kristie. Grace was anxious and excited about this meeting. All summer long we have been working on Grace being independent in the restroom. She has been trained since November but she still wants us to help her with her pants, etc. We had been telling her she couldn't go to preschool unless she learned to go all by herself since we had been told at orientation in the spring that the kids needed to be independent. She apparently took this to heart because her biggest concern today was us telling Mrs. Kristie that "sometimes she might need help if she has to go poop but that's ok. Please tell her that's ok. I can still go to preschool." Poor girl :(

Grace really liked her teacher although in true Grace style, she didn't say a word. The highlight of the meeting was when Mrs. Kristie handed her a scissors to see how well she cuts. Grace's eyes got huge and she looked at us, not believing that she was finally going to be able to use one. Any doubt about this preschool thing vanished when the usually "forbidden" scissors was presented.... :)

Setting the Bar Too High

It was time for another trim of Grace's hair. I was planning on doing it myself but she explained to me that I couldn't do it- I didn't have "cupcake" spray for her hair. I suggested the walk in place down the street and she asked if they had a star glitter stamp for her cheek. Apparently the "princess cut" for her first haircut spoiled her. She and I had a special day together before preschool started so I decided to give in to the fancy haircut again. She did great and loved it!

Kate First Day of "School"

Kate started her first "school" today- Mother's Day Out two mornings a week at the church down the street. Her teacher is Ms. Wanda and there are 4 "creepers" in her class.
Grace was very excited about Kate's first day of school and insisted on packing her lunch.
After she packed a pretty good lunch, Grace took it upon herself to give Kate a little pep talk. I walked in to hear Grace telling Kate she would have fun, she wouldn't be there but that would be ok, she would come and pick her up later. I suggested to Grace that she tell her about sharing but instead I was given a horrified look and told "Mommy, she is a baby! She does not have to share!" Grace then rubbed Kate's head and told her she could "play with any toy she wanted" while giving me a sideways glance that she knew what was best...
Kate did great on her first day. Her teacher said she did very well and loved playing with her new friends. Here she is at her snack table
