And fondant- attempt #1
I gave up on pictures at this point- it was after midnight and we had already called two professional cake bakers, searched the internet for techniques on coloring and stretching and done everything we could think of and we just couldn't get our first batch of fondant to work. Jeff and Sarah valiantly spent another two hours trying to make it work before turning in for bed.
Fondant Attempt #2
We started from scratch this time and Jeff did a great job getting the color just right.
After a few hours we were finally able to take our places to stretch and place it on our cake
Looking good...
But not for long...

Attempt #3
I'm not sure exactly how- he had about 20 minutes to finish(after the 18 hours we had already been working on it) but we ended up with this-
