After several weeks of very awkward dinners where Kate stared at every bite we put in our mouths, we decided it was time to give her a turn. When we ate, she would literally follow the food from our plates to our mouths and would move her mouth while we chewed. We started tonight with rice cereal. Grace was very confused when we made it- she was imagining Cheerios when we told her Kate was going to eat cereal.
I vividly remember Grace's first "feeding" of cereal and this was very different- because of our little helper....Grace really wanted to feed Kate. She's been waiting for this moment since before Kate was born. She had helped feed her cousin Isabella in the past so she was ready.
Kate did pretty well. She didn't really understand how to swallow but she tried as hard as she could. She seemed to like what she actually ate.
Eventually she had enough and decided licking the bib was easier ;o)
