Jack, Grace and I went and met Grace's preschool teacher, Mrs. Kristie. Grace was anxious and excited about this meeting. All summer long we have been working on Grace being independent in the restroom. She has been trained since November but she still wants us to help her with her pants, etc. We had been telling her she couldn't go to preschool unless she learned to go all by herself since we had been told at orientation in the spring that the kids needed to be independent. She apparently took this to heart because her biggest concern today was us telling Mrs. Kristie that "sometimes she might need help if she has to go poop but that's ok. Please tell her that's ok. I can still go to preschool." Poor girl :(
Grace really liked her teacher although in true Grace style, she didn't say a word. The highlight of the meeting was when Mrs. Kristie handed her a scissors to see how well she cuts. Grace's eyes got huge and she looked at us, not believing that she was finally going to be able to use one. Any doubt about this preschool thing vanished when the usually "forbidden" scissors was presented.... :)
