Trick or Treating
We were invited over to our friends Tony and Betsy's house to go trick or treating again this year. They live on a great street with lots of activity so we decided to give it a try again this year. You might remember last year so our hopes weren't high. Grace had been giving Kate a "pep talk" all week long about how she shouldn't be scared to trick or treat which was just funny given Grace's total breakdown last year.
Jack and Tony took the girls and it was a success! All the girls liked getting the candy. Kate really enjoyed putting her bucket out and getting candy and Grace did too.

Kate came back after a little while and played with her new buddy Frances
Happy Halloween!
Kate's First Halloween
Busy Halloween Day
Grace had a soccer end of season festival on Halloween- Soctoberbest to be exact. There was going to be trick or treating, games and a soccer practice. We invited Gayle and Mac to come too. It was going to be a great morning but it rained and they cancelled it after they sent an email saying it was still on. The girls were all dressed in their costumes in the parking lot of the soccer field ready to party :( We made a quick change of plans and went to a McDonalds with an indoor playground and have a great time. The girls loved the treats Gayle and Mac brought them.
There are no pictures of Grace because she spent the entire time in the tunnels and slide- something she has always been afraid of in the past. We couldn't get her out this time.
Happy Birthday Abby!

Kate's Music Class
Kate has loved her music class. Her favorite thing has been the drums. She loves to pound on them, climb on them and hug them. I'll admit I have seen her shove another kid off the drums so she can climb on them :( At least she has a good time....
Another favorite is the parachute. She loves to sit in the middle and be pulled around in a circle with her friends. They usually bail out one at a time but she always waits until the end to get her complete ride. (Her sister screamed bloody murder whenever we pulled it out in her class)
(for historical purposes only- this is the first blog entry I've done on a plane- in flight!)
The Girls and Their Daddy
This is what happens when I don't supervise Jack when he's getting the girls ready for bathtime...

Just Couldn't Wait
Grace was convinced she should wear her costume to school- she really wanted to show Ms. Kristie her Tinkerbell outfit. She asked both Jack and me a million times to check her calendar to see if she was supposed to wear it. After we told her it didn't say anything about a costume, she insisted we were reading it wrong- she was supposed to wear it. Since her costume was just a dress, we let her wear it and she was so excited.
When she got home I asked her if anyone else wore their costume. She said "No. But Ms. Kristie liked my costume so I'm so glad I wore it." :)

Volunteer Daddy and Girls
My MOMS Group had our traditional trip to the local nursing home to reverse trick or treat. I had a last minute meeting scheduled so I couldn't attend. Jack was great to keep our commitment of attending and took the girls by himself. He did such a great job with them that he didn't get any pictures- too busy! Grace did a great job handing out candy and Kate got into it too! I'm so glad Jack was able to continue the tradition started when Grace was 6 months old
Pumpkin Carving
Jack was great and took both girls by himself and even got some pictures! It looks like everyone had lots of fun!

Kate's Treat
Soccer Sunday
Grace's last soccer practice of this season was on Sunday. Grace has really improved since the first Sunday where all she wanted to do was take a water break :) She has really improved on her running, kicking and coordination. I had to go to a baby shower for my friend Erika so Grace's Grandma and Pop came to watch and be with Kate. It looks like both Jacks got a chance to help Grace with her soccer. Pop got some great pictures!

Grace was chosen to demonstrate an agility skill- passing the ball back and forth between her hands. We might have to work on that at home...

After soccer we all met up for a celebration dinner. And then ice cream!
