Grace thinks a birthday means a party. Makes sense- we all know she goes to a lot of birthday parties so that's really her only exposure to birthdays. A few weeks before Jack's birthday she started asking us about his party. Actually, she started telling us about the party he was going to have- at the park. A few times she came home from school to tell us about what friends she invited from her class to come (we were a little worried about this). Jack decided to do a run on his birthday and we planned it to end at a park so Grace could have the party she had planned. The park was in Gayle and Mac's neighborhood so they were sweet to meet us out there for the party. There was a neighborhood sweet shop and we bought a piece of chocolate cake- also part of Grace's big party plans- so everything was perfect.
There was lots of playing, we all shared the cake and Kate took a nap ;o) It was a great party!
